How it Works
A human child has an innate ability to absorb language, to understand its basic function, and to begin to speak coherently with virtually no instruction. This is part of a human's basic developmental process. All that needs to happen for a child to understand the language around them is to expose them to it. This development is so inherent, that If a child shows delays in their language progress, multiple interventions are taken early to help them reach these important language milestones.
Studies have shown, and all experts agree that the later a child is exposed to language, the harder it becomes for them to learn it.
Reading is simply our spoken language written down so our eyes can see it. The neural processes to learn to read are the same processes as learning to speak: expose a young child to enough written words and they will innately learn how to use them. The later a child is exposed to the written language, the more difficult it becomes for them to learn it.
Reading ability can happen from early on. Begin by reading to your baby. Hearing words and sentences helps their spoken language acquisition. Parent Packs A, B, and C are curated to start your child on their language journey. Poetry, rhymes, finger plays, and movement all help a child's language development.
When your child's eyesight develops enough, expose them to letters and letter sounds. This helps them differentiate the different sounds of the language. Parent Pack 1 gives you all the necessary tools to start this learning adventure into the sounds and symbols of language.
Once your child is familiar with letters, start to build their visual vocabulary by teaching them basic words and helping them learn them through repetition. Parent Packs 2-5 walk you through this process and make it easy to start your child's reading ability.
This process is what unlocks your child's potential. Learning to communicate both by speaking and by reading and writing will help them in every aspect of their life moving forward.
